How to clean a geode?

Geodes are beautiful, unique crystals that are naturally formed within a hollow section in a rock. To keep them looking their best, it is important to clean them regularly.

The best way to clean a geode is to first soak it for about 15 minutes in lukewarm water and mild soap. Then, use a soft bristled brush to clean the surfaces of the geode. Be sure to use a gentle brush, as hard bristles can leave marks on the delicate surfaces. Once you have lightly scrubbed the geode, rinse it with clean water.

After scrubbing, use a soft cloth soaked in hydrogen peroxide to rub the surfaces of the geode. This will help remove any small deposits or stains on the surface that are difficult to remove with scrubbing alone.

Once you have finished cleaning the geode, ensure that it is completely dry before storing it to avoid any water damage. You should also keep the geode in a safe place, away from direct sunlight or in a dark cupboard. This will help stop the geode from becoming dull or discoloring over time.

When you take care of your geodes, you can ensure they will continue to look beautiful and shine for a long time.
