Removing syrup from carpet can be a challenge, but it is possible, with the right product and method. The first step is to have all the necessary items on hand. These can include a vacuum, a carpet cleaner/shampoo, a sponge, white vinegar, and hydrogen peroxide.
The next step is to use the vacuum cleaner to remove as much of the excess syrup as possible. Then, mix a solution of a quarter cup of vinegar and a cup of warm water. This will help to break down the sticky residue.
Apply the vinegar mixture to the stained area and gently rub it in using a sponge. Then, use a carpet cleaner/shampoo to completely remove the syrup residue and any lingering stains.
If needed, a small amount of hydrogen peroxide can be added to the solution to help remove any remaining syrup. Be sure to test a small amount of the shampoo/carpet cleaner on an inconspicuous area of the carpet first. Work the hydrogen peroxide into the syrup stained area and let it sit for approximately 15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
After the syrup has been removed and the carpet is dry, vacuum the area to lift any remaining residue. Hopefully, with the right products and cleaning methods, the syrup can successfully be removed from the carpet.
