1. Start by talking to your doctor to determine an exercise plan that you can follow despite your injury. Ask your doctor what activities and movements you should avoid and be sure to follow his or her advice.
2. Invest in a supportive chair or seat cushion. It is important to ensure your back and spine are supported as you sit, in order to help you sit comfortably. You may also benefit from a lumbar support pillow for additional back support.
3. Place a pillow or cushion on your lap. This will help support your injured pelvis and keep it from bowing or wobbling.
4. Sit up straight. Make sure that your spine is not curved or strained in any way.
5. Make sure your feet are flat on the floor. If you cannot reach the floor, use a footrest.
6. Take regular breaks. Sitting for extended periods of time can be uncomfortable and tiring. Be sure to take regular breaks to stretch and move around.
7. Consider using a cushion to alter your posture. If you have difficulty sitting up straight, use a cushion to slightly raise one side of your body. This can help to relieve stress on your lower body.
