How to tuck turkey wings?

Tucking the wings of a turkey helps to keep the bird balanced when roasting, keeps the wings from burning, and ensures even coverage of heat throughout the bird. Here are the steps for tucking the wings of a turkey:

1. Carefully flip your turkey over so its breast side is now facing down.

2. Find the two long loose-looking wings of the turkey, one on each side of the body.

3. Grab the first wing with one hand under its “armpit” and pull it slightly towards the center of the turkey.

4. Tuck the end of the wing tip under the neck flap at the back of the bird.

5. Repeat the steps with the other wing.

6. When finished, the wings should be neatly tucked underneath the turkey’s neck flap.

7. Flip the turkey back over so it is once again in its original position.

Your turkey is now ready to roast.
