Nether and End dimensions are extraplanar spaces featured in Minecraft.
The Nether is a Hell-like landscape composed of Netherrack, Soul Sand, and Lava. It is home to hostile mobs called mobs (which range from the small to the huge) and the player can find several types of blocks, such as Nether Brick, Nether Quartz, Glowstone and more. The Nether is a great place to find minerals and resources that are not available on the Overworld. It is also a great place to take shortcuts to other places in the Overworld.
The End is another extraplanar space featured in Minecraft. It is much darker and isolated from the rest of the world. This dimension consists of a sky full of islands made out of Pale Stone, each topped with a large Ender Crystal. These islands are surrounded by a vast ocean of Dark Purple Water. The biggest island is known as the “End island”. Here resides the dangerous Ender dragon, the main boss of Minecraft. The Ender dragon must be defeated in order to unlock the End Credits sequence and the achievement “The Ender of the Beginning”. You can also find the End’s equivalent of ores such as Enderstone and Ender Coal.
Both the Nether and End are important places in Minecraft. They offer a variety of resources and challenges and are very rewarding when it comes to exploration. As such, they are must-see places and should be explored frequently while in the game.
