Dolphins in Minecraft eat various forms of fish, such as cod, salmon, tropical fish, and pufferfish. Dolphins can also swim up to players and feed them fish, if there are nearby dolphins. This can be identified by a baby dolphin swimming and jumping around the player, as well as an on-screen message that reads, “The dolphin is trying to give you a gift”. Dolphins can also be tamed by feeding them raw cod, which will make them follow the player. Additionally, dolphins can lead players to Ocean Monuments and buried treasure, if the player is riding the dolphin and it comes across a structure.
