Where was Gondor when the Westfold fell?

Gondor was a powerful kingdom located south of the Misty Mountains and the region known as Wilderland in the fictional world of Middle-earth. It was located at the world’s Crossroads, where the great East-West Road and the North-South Road crossed.

At the time of the War of the Ring, the kingdom of Gondor was suffering from military losses and political destabilization. The geographic diversity of Gondor’s territory made it a challenge to defend and the city of Minas Tirith, the capital, became increasingly vulnerable to external attack.

As the war stretched on, the western boundary of Gondor—known as the Westfold—was in danger of being overrun. King Théoden of Rohan, under the command of Saruman, led an assault on the Westfold from the east. The attack was preceded by long-range siege engines that bombarded Minas Tirith and the walls of the Rammas Echor, the outer defensive wall.

In response to the attack, Gondor’s forces were stationed in the Westfold in hopes of containing the onslaught. However, the odds were stacked against them and soon the Westfold had fallen. The armies of Minas Tirith and Rohan then met in battle on the Pelennor fields. It was a decisive victory for Gondor as the Orc hordes were driven back and Rohan was given respite from Saruman’s onslaught.

In the wake of this battle, the city of Minas Tirith was rebuilt and re-fortified. The Westfold, however, remained in ruins, with the Dark Lord Sauron’s forces controlling the region. In the coming years, Gondor’s forces would fight bravely to retake the Westfold and push back the darkness, but with little success.

Finally, after many years of battles and sieges, Gondor was saved through the efforts of the combined armies of Men, Elves and Dwarves. With the help of the newly formed armies of the West, the forces of Gondor were able to push back the darkness and reclaim much of the Westfold that had been lost.

In the wake of their victory, Gondor began the long process of rebuilding and reclaiming the region. They also began to establish and reestablish ties with other nations and kingdoms in the region. Through these efforts, Gondor was able to restore the Westfold to its former splendor and once again become a great and powerful kingdom.

Today, Gondor is a thriving nation, full of culture and heritage. While the Westfold remains in ruins and the scars of war still linger, Gondor has rebuilt and reclaimed much of what it lost and stands as a testament to the strength and courage of its people.
