Life hacks how to get something out of your eye

Firstly, resist the urge to rub or scratch your eye. Don't even rub your eyes with your fingers as this can cause further irritation.

If possible, flush your eye with lukewarm water to help remove the object. Using a sterile eyedropper, try to flush the object out in a gentle and controlled fashion.

If there is no eyedropper available, you can use a small glass cup filled with lukewarm water. Lean over a sink and tilt your head until the object is facing down. Closed your eye and gently pour the water into your eye. This may help the object to flush out.

If the object won't flush out or you cannot get close enough to flush, you can use a damp cloth to try to pull the object out. You may have to move the upper and lower lid gently to help pull the object out.

If you can see the object and you have tweezers, you can try to manually remove the object with tweezers. Make sure you are taking extreme care in doing this and try not to scratch your eye.

If you can't remove the object, you may need to go to a medical professional for assistance.
